TIP 005: Natural Weed Killer~
Eco-tips Gardening
Spray vinegar to get rid of weeds. It needs to be around 10% strength to work so pickling vinegar is best. Just fill a spray bottle with pure vinegar and spray on weeds. Be sure to coat the plants evenly. The vinegar spray is said to be more effective on sunny and hot days. It is very effective so make sure to spot treat and not to spray on other plants.

TIP 006: Peat Free Gardening~
Eco-tips Gardening
Peat bogs form where the ground is waterlogged and are an accumulation of decomposed plants. In the UK, peat areas are being depleted for the gardening industry. Added to garden composts, peat adds bulk and organic matter and helps the soil retains its moisture. Peat bogs are unique and their depletion leads to the extinction of plants and wildlife which they shelter.
Non-essential to gardeners, peat can easily be replaced by peat-free alternatives. Better still, use your own compost!

TIP 007: Get rid of slugs~
Eco-tips Gardening
If slugs are a problem pour some beer in a medium height container and place it outside. Slugs love beer because of its yeast content. They will crawl into the container and get drawn there, too drunk to find their way out!
